
Alfredo García Prats is a Financial and Tax Law professor at the University of Valencia (Spain).
He has held two Jean Monnet Chairs at the European Commission (EU Law and Taxation, and EU Tax Law and Policy). He is Director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the University of Valencia on Tax and Economic Governance in the European Union.
He is the founder of the International, Constitutional and Comparative Tax Studies Group (ETICCs group) of the University of Valencia (www.uv.es/tax). Extraordinary Doctorate Award (1994) from the University of Valencia for his thesis on Permanent Establishments (Tecnos, 1996). He has extensive scientific output on international tax matters, European Union tax law, corporate taxation, and international dispute resolution procedures. F. Alfredo García has extensive experience advising on international tax matters, European Union law, transfer pricing, corporate taxation, reorganizations, tax risk analysis and mitigation, and estate planning. He is a member of the ECJ Task Force of the European Fiscal Confederation.
He has served as of counsel for various international law firms and transfer pricing consultancies.
He served as Senior Advisor in the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund.

He has advised various international institutions, governments, and tax administrations on tax matters and international taxation. He has served as an advisor to the UN Ad Hoc Committee on International Tax Cooperation. He is currently a member of the Subcommittee on Wealth Taxation and Solidarity of the UN Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters.
He has served as an independent expert in preparing legal opinions and reports in judicial proceedings, appeals, expert reports, mutual agreement proceedings, and arbitrations, as well as in analyses of the adequacy of national tax regulations with international tax standards and best practices.
